We are moving to Australia!

Well, I have a piece of fantastic news. I’ve accepted a position in Australia and will be moving back somewhere between October and January. It looks like we’ll touch down and settle in the Sydney area. I’ve been talking to my cousins about ideas on where to live, where to send the boys to school, etc. I’ll be getting more money, have some expenses taken care of, lower cost-of-living, it looks pretty darn good from here. The school year is a calendar year so we have some time to find the right school for both boys, I am thinking we’ll chuck Liam into Kindergarten and Nevan Grade 1. Nevan will actually begin Grade 1 here but will start it over again once we get to Australia. I’m excited to put the boys through schools in Australia and through sporting clubs, such as cricket, soccer and rugby league. I am also too excited to play in a far higher quality cricket competition as well, with no more driving 12 hours to play!

Ah, and watching Parramatta Eels play. I can buy a season ticket of 11 home games in good seats for less than what it would cost to buy 1 ticket for 1 game in decent seats to watch the Denver Broncos. And the cricket… more games are played in Sydney than any other venue in Australia.

Anyway, quick post to pass the news! I’ll post more details as they become known to me.

(I know I’m getting to this late, but…)

Mate, this is awesome news – you totally deserve this! I know the family will have a wonderful time – and I’m sure the boys will love those sports clubs!

A little over a year on from this message – boy does time fly. We are settled in Australia and have been for 3 and a half months. Again, time flies. I’ve been to five football games already. This is more games in a period of 3 months than my whole life previously. I am in footy heaven overload and I am loving it.
