We’ve been planning to have a third child, Jenifer researched quite heavily what it takes to have a girl since we have two boys. I won’t go into the details because we don’t even know that it worked and it’s a bit TMI I reckon. :) Jenifer took some pregnancy tests that returned favourable results but I was skeptical so she made a visit to the doctor and it became official!

The boys are clearly excited as they blurted it to our neighbours across the street before we could let them know. “My mum is pregnant!” is the statement coming from their little mouths. The only thing about having boys is the questions that come from the boys. “When does the baby get here?” or the classic “Where does the baby come from?”.  When do we have that talk? Surely not yet…

What’s odd to think about is the fact that when next May rolls around it would have been six years since we had our previous child. That seems like such a long time. I would never have planned it this way if I penciled it down ten years ago but what happens has happened. I don’t think we were ready for a third before now; having two has been wonderful but we’ve had some massive changes in our lives over the past couple years. Having another in that time would have added to the turmoil.

I’m naturally excited that we’ll have an Australian born child. It won’t make him or her the favourite by any means, I just like the idea. Everyone is hoping for a girl, I feel so much pressure in some ways but I keep reminding myself… It’s out of my hands now!

Thanks a lot guys! No we don’t know yet, but Jenifer is not the type who can wait the 9 months and see. We’ll be finding out the very second we can believe me…

John – I updated the entry. I was too tired at the time or something, I just had to break the news though.

Yeah, I look like a right git now, given my first comment was more suited to your original, very, very, very short post ;)

Congrats, mate. Here’s wishing you & Jen a smooth pregnancy and a hassle-free birth.

Hey, I know this is an old entry but I had to comment. Congratulations guys!!! I think I know what “methods” you’re talking about, ’cause I’ve researched them myself (also having 2 boys)…hehehe. Hope all goes well. :)
