This collage above shows myself and my best friend Robert Hayes at Magnetic Island, 8km off the coast of Townsville Australia. Rob is the guy who first introduced me to the internet. In a way you could say if it wasn't for his friendship, I would not be where I am today. We were together during 1997. But lets go back in time and see what I was like in my growing up years...

Michael6mnths1.JPG (8688 bytes)I was born in Melbourne, VIC, Australia on the 5th of February, 1979. I was the first born to my parents, Judy & Steve Doig. 18 months later, after moving to Geelong, VIC, Australia, my younger brother Adrian was born. Another 16 months later, when I was nearly 3 years old, my sister Michelle was born in the same city. I have no other brothers or sisters. In 3 short years, we were all born.

I began pre-school (kindergarten) at age 4 in Sydney Australia. Before I had a chance to settle into that new school life, we moved 2000km north to Townsville Australia. I completed my pre-school year in grade 1, not coping with this higher standard level. I was not meant to be in grade 1 yet. I was held back from going onto grade 2, and re-did grade 1. This time, I succeeded and ended up helping to teach the class. Towards the end of grade 3, we moved again, 1000km south to the capital city of Queensland, Brisbane.

Brisbane is where I spent most of my life as a child. I started Karate in 1988, and completed to 1995. I entered many tournaments, winning every now and then. I won my age division at the World Cup in 1991, fighting 9 fights in total without a loss. That was a major highlight to be recognised as the best 12 year old in the world. I began playing Cricket for a club, and Ten Pin Bowling for my first ever time in a league. I was also 2 years running Cross Country Running champion for 2 years in a row, 1994 & 1995. My mum still proudly displays my 40 trophies at her home back in Australia.

From here I flew through school, and after finishing grade 9 with 5 A's out of 7 subjects I was looking towards a professional career. I finished grade 10 with straight B's and began grade 11 with confidence. However we re-moved to Townsville, back up north 1000km. This disrupted my higher schooling, and I started behind in my new school. I am happy though that I passed high school well, with 4 B's and 3 C's. I gained entrance to the University studying Bachelor of Commerce. (Accounting) I was introduced to the internet and met my wife Jenifer. I began teaching myself Web Design, and steadily gained knowledge to my Web Programming status today. I have never schooled for Web Design, but rather did self study and experimenting.
