Tomorrow we embark on our great South African road trip and safari.
Beginning in Johannesburg, we grab ourselves a fully equipped Land Rover from Bush Lore – a reputable 4×4 safari rental company in South Africa.
We’ll start be spending the majority of the first week in Kruger Park; staying in Skukuza, Olifants Rest Camp and Mopani Rest camp as we use these camps as a launching point for discovering the safari world around us. These will be comfortable stays as we stay within huts.
But once we head into Botswana, this is where the fun will begin. The first couple days in the remote south east corner of Botswana will be camping and sleeping on the Land Rover roof.
We’ll spend all day driving and stay in Gweta a few days, Kasane a few days, Maun a couple days and deep in the Kalahari a few days.
The goal being we spend some excellent, remote game viewing in the following national parks:
- Makgadikgadi Pans National Park
- Nxai Pan National Park
- Chobe National Park
- Moremi Game Reserve (Okavango Delta)
- Kalahari Game Reserve
I’m hoping to jump over to Zimbabwe and visit Victoria Falls, this might have to be a day trip.
3 African Safari weeks. I cannot wait.
