Louie & Maitha Visit Australia

Louie & Maitha Visit Australia

Just over a year ago I ventured into the Philippines for the first time, looking for computer engineering talent to start an off-shore centre of excellence for Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.

I didn’t enjoy a fruitful first search, but in my second and third forays up (and an adjustment in strategy) I was able to find great talent, thus beginning what would become an integral part of the Australian business. It was my 3rd visit that I found Louie Rosales.

Louie had a data and financial background but I was also impressed by his business acumen and communication skills. We quickly hit it off and within short time Louie was the Manager I was looking for.

Over the next nine months Louie eagerly ate up everything about the business. He acquired knowledge at a rate of knots and became an SME within a much shorter time-frame than we originally anticipated. During this time our professional and personal relationship grew in leaps and bounds.

It was with great pleasure we were able to fly Louie down to Australia for two weeks to meet and work with the extended team and, as expected; take in a few Australian sights whilst here. His wife, Maitha, works remotely so was easily able to tag along and work the days whilst we were busy in the office.

We jam packed in a great deal of sight-seeing, too! Vivid Sydney was on at the time so an evening drinking by the Opera House was a must. A Vivid Cruise another night was also a must – a perfect opportunity to gaze upon night time Sydney from one of the best vantage points. Dinner and drinks aboard the boat also didn’t go astray…

We managed to take in a game in the Corporate Box at ANZ Stadium to watch my “mighty?” Eels (thanks for coming, Gareth White!) as well as a day exploring the Blue Mountains.

The photos below only partially do justice to the immense two weeks we shared together and a bond that left stronger than it was already when he arrived…
